Ruby Bolton was born and raised in California. She received her Bachelor's degree in English from Brigham Young University and her J.D. from the University of Texas, Austin. Ruby was awarded membership in the Order of Barristers, and was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Women and the Law. In 1994 she and her husband formed the partnership of Bolton & Bolton, which was later reformed as a Professional Corporation, Bolton & Bolton, P.C.
